STATIC APNEA (STA)

A diver tries to hold breath as long as possible under water in the rest position. Maximum allowable depth of immersion is 3 metres. Maximum time achieved by the athlete in this way is measured.

DYNAMIC APNEA (DYN/DNF)

A diver swims under the water surface on one breath with the help of fins, a monofin or without fins. Touching and taking off the bottom is forbidden and it depreciates performance. Maximum distance achieved by the athlete in this way is measured.

CONSTANT WEIGHT (CWT/CNF)

A diver descends to depth and subsequently he ascends along the rope only with the help of fins, a monofin or without fins. Touching the rope or pulling up the rope more than once depreciates performance and throwing loading off is forbidden. Maximum depth achieved by the athlete in this way is measured.

FREE IMMERSION (FIM)

A diver descends to depth and subsequently he ascends along the rope only with the help of hand over hand. Fins are forbidden and throwing loading off is not allowed either. Maximum depth achieved by the athlete in this way is measured.

VARIABLE WEIGHT (VWT)

Using loading of maximum weight 30 kg is allowed for descending to depth in the discipline of variable weight. A diver holds the loading when descending and once he reaches a maximum depth, he lets the loading go. Subsequently he ascends with the help of fins or a monofin or by pulling up the rope. Maximum depth achieved by the athlete in this way is measured.

NO LIMITS (NLT)

It is an extreme depth discipline. Maximum freediving depths are achieved thanks to the No limits means. It is further development of variable weight (VWT), when a diver descends to depth with the help of a loading that has no weight limit. This loading is connected with a so-called platton, which will transport the athlete to the depth he wants to reach. The athlete is afterwards usually pulled to the water surface by means of a ball filled with air. Maximum depth (in metres) achieved by the athlete in this way is measured.
